ALERT!: THEFT OF DELIVERED GOODS, E 46th between 130th & 132nd E Ave., 3/24/2017

This message was received at 9:42 PM last night by a neighbor that did exactly what should be done..the police were called.  PICTURES ARE ATTACHED.  DO YOU KNOW THIS WOMAN?  Do you have a videotape that would show this event?  Please let us know.

130th and 46th St

I realized today that I had not received 2 packages that should have been here by now so I checked the tracking on them and they both showed they were delivered at 12:46pm on Friday, March 17th. The fact that they were delivered together made me assume they had been stolen. I went pack and checked my security footage and sure enough, a U Haul van pulled up in front of my house and a woman got out of the passenger side, walked up to my porch and stole both packages at 1:27pm. I have filed a police report. I can't see the tag number of the U Haul, but if anyone else has security footage from that day of that van driving around with the tag visible, that would be helpful.

DO YOU KNOW THIS WOMAN?  Do you have a videotape that would show this event?  Please let us know.

Be on the lookout (BOLO) for the potential of similar experiences.  Report to police immediately and to ALERT@QuailRidgeTulsa.org should you see a suspicious situation.

This incident occurred today near the intersection of E 46th St and S. 134th E Ave.  The report received follows:

Black Honda in front of our house tag BEY 911, when they saw my husband checking their tag they tailgated him using hand gestures and cursing him. They finally turned off on 61st and 145. This was at noon march 17. 2017

This is most disturbing as you have no idea what they were up to in the first place and what they might do.  For the suspicious occupants to express such displeasure with somebody doing what is only prudent, could be indicative of mal-intent by the suspects.  As the Alert Neighbor program recommends, always report suspicious vehicles and individuals to the police as soon as possible, and follow-up with a report to ALERT@quailridgetulsa.org.

ALERT: E 46 & 134th E Ave. THEFT OF PERSONAL PROPERTY FROM GARAGE AND VEHICLES 3/20/2017
The following report was received at 12:15 PM today:

I live on 134th E Ave and we have had a couple of incidents with someone trying to steal from our cars in the driveway.

The most recent incident happened sometime Saturday evening or early Sunday morning.  We noticed the door to my Ford Escape was wide open. Nothing was taken (there was nothing they could take). We also noticed a cooler that my husband keeps in his truck was open. They took bottles of water from it.  They didn't break into the truck, my husband keeps the cooler outside on the bed of the truck.

A few weeks ago we noticed some tools and a weed eater were taken from our garage. The sad thing is that we don't even know when it happened and how it happened.  My husband has so many tools that he didn't notice until he needed those particular items that were stolen.

Our cars are usually locked at all times I think my daughter must have unlocked my SUV and forgot to lock it.  Before we noticed the items gone from our garage we used to have it open while mowing and while the kids played outside, not anymore.

We are in process of installing security cameras outside. We usually don't have much traffic driving thru our street so its really odd.

Please advise the neighborhood to make sure cars are locked and always keep the garage door down.

The resident did not mention whether the police were contacted.  The should report it because the police do track the number of such reports and use these statistics to help determine priorities for patrol assignments.  If you know anything about this event, please advise asap.

The Neighbors advice is very good advice to keep in mind:  "make sure cars are locked and always keep the garage door down."  If you see anything suspicious, always report it to the police and to the neighborhood by sending a message to ALERT@QuailRidgeTulsa.org .

BE ALERT AND SPREAD THE WORD.  REPORT, REPORT, REPORT.

ALERT: NEIGHBOR HARASSED. SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE ON 46TH ST 3/17/2017, c 12:00 PM

ALERT: INTRUDER - NEAR 45TH & 131ST E AVE. FEB 12 2017

The following message was received shortly after noon today.

For the last couple of weeks we have been noticing that the keypad that allows a person to enter a code to open the garage on our house has been left open. My spouse and I thought it was just one of us, but it turns out that it is not. Today, our alarm went off saying that our garage door had been opened to trigger the alarm. The keypad was open when we arrived back at the house. The police were called, but I am not sure if they ever came since we were not home at the time.

Just an FYI that you may want to send out to the neighborhood to be alert of people messing with properties in the neighborhood.

Everybody should be alert and should always report any suspicious activity to the Police and to the Qauail Ridge President ( President@QuailRidgeTulsa.org ) and/or Quail Ridge Alerts ( ALERT@QuailRidgeTulsa.org )as soon as possible.
ALERT:  GARAGE DOOR OPENERS SHOULD BE UPDATED TO ELIMINATE KEYPADS.
We have had a few incidents, both successful and unsuccessful, for illegal entry to the house by trial and error code entry on the key pads attached to the garage door jamb.  Some entry has included theft, but it seems that the intruder is more enchanted with the challenge ... as a the average hacker might be.  Can I?  I'll try for the fun of it.  The chances of a winning entry are much better on the key pads than they would be with the newer remote door openers with a more sophisticated digital combination.  If you have purchased one in the last 15 to 20 years, you probably have the newer remote.  If not, you should consider making the change - they are much more secure.
